Back-to-school, one last summer adventure, and a hint of what's coming

September creeps up, doesn't it? One minute it's ice creams and late bedtimes. Then there's a uniform on the door and a small person with big feelings about all of it. I think about this time of year a lot, both as a dad and as someone building for families. Starting school is a huge moment, for them and for you. So here's what we've been up to this month.

Back-to-school stories, for the big first day

We've made a set of back-to-school stories to help your little one feel ready. The big worries at this age tend to be small and specific. Will I find the loo? What if nobody plays with me? Who's my teacher going to be? So these are stories where the characters wobble, ask the awkward questions, make a friend, and find their feet, and your child gets to steer how it all turns out. When your child builds the story, they're quietly rehearsing the real thing.

One last summer adventure

Not quite ready to let summer go? Same! There's still time for one more travel story before the routine takes over. Pack an imaginary suitcase, pick somewhere to go, a beach you actually visited or a city you've only read about. The nice thing is it works both ways. It's a lovely way to hold on to a trip you've just had, or to get a small person excited about one still to come.
