Holiday time, thousands of (reading) goals... and a note that made our week

Hi! 

A quick hello from me and the whole team at Tandem. Firstly, a thank you. A lot of what's new this month came straight from you: your ideas, your messages, the books you wished existed. If you’ve not been in Tandem for a while, do check it out. Lots is new!  

Football stories, built in a week

When the football had everyone talking (and staying up late!), we wanted your little ones in on it too... So, we made a brand-new kind of book, from first idea to a finished book, in a single week. It's the fastest we've ever turned something around. It’salso our first go at bring near-real-time events (this time last night’s game) into the Tandem app with safe automation.  
 
And it seems to have worked... Since then, you've collectively created more than 150,000 words of football stories together: match-day adventures, star strikers, last-minute winners, all captured in a book to read in Tandem. If there's a kind of book,you'd love us to make next, just reply and tell us. A lot of what we build starts as a message exactly like that.

Holiday books, landing this week

Here's one that did. Plenty of you told us the same thing: when a trip's coming up, you want your little one excited about where they're going and knowing a bit about it, not just along for the ride. So, we’re just putting the finished touches on our Tandem Travel books.

We’ve done this because guidebooks are written for adults... but kids go on holiday too, and they rightly want to know where they’re going, how they’re getting there and what to do when they’re there.  We’ve built four different types of travel books that will be in the Tandem App this week:

• Mini guidebooks for where you are going 
• Books that walk you through whatever forms of transport you’re using to get there
• A story set in the place you’re going, from travel adventures to folk tales 
• And finally, an illustrated packing list generator to match your destination and activities, so they (or you) don't leave anything important behind. 

They roll out this week, included for all subscribers, and unlocked for just £3.99 for everyone else. Please let us know any feedback; as ever, I promise to reply to every email. 

A note that made our week, and a shoutout to all the grandparents out there!

We had to share this one, from a Tandem grandma:

"My granddaughter, aged 4, loves this app. She just loves making up the stories and the related activities. It gets updated too to add freshness. So glad I found it."

So, thank you to all the Grandparents out there. It’s great to hear that Tandem is providing that thing to do, together, when you’re with your grandkids.
