Our vision is for a world where every child gets a fair start in life.

We want to be much more than a tech startup, making a positive impact on the next generation through creating tools and services which help them to have the best possible start in life. 

Our mission is informed by two critical points; firstly, a recognition that emerging technologies are reshaping our world, and this is impacting on the lives of young children already. 

Secondly, we are motivated by the fact that the early years are the most formative years in our lives, a time when our developing brains are most sensitive, meaning this can be a time of great opportunity, or the period when inter-generational inequality is 'baked in'.

We think that the tech industry - like much of society - doesn't know or think enough about child health and development, and we aim to bridge that gap. Tandem exists to challenge the status quo and create a future where technology enhances, rather than hinders, the early years of life.

By replacing passive content consumption with positive interaction through shared reading we aim to bring different, more enriching, ways of experiencing the world to young children. Our goal is to ensure a better start for all infants, addressing the roots of inequality. And we're starting with Tandem.
